A user recently shared a successful cloning experience of a Porsche Panamera BCM module using the Xhorse Multi-Prog programmer.
The original Porsche BCM with MC9S12XE – 2M25J MCU was read successfully, and both PFLASH and DFLASH data were backed up using the Multi-Prog.
To clone the module to a donor BCM:
- Both the original and donor modules were first backed up completely.
- The donor MCU was then unlocked with Multi Prog.
- During the unlock process, all donor data was erased automatically, so making a full backup before unlocking is extremely important.
After unlocking, the donor module was written with:
- DFLASH from the original BCM
- PFLASH from the donor BCM
With this configuration, the cloning procedure completed successfully and the Porsche Panamera operated normally afterward.
Although the two BCM modules had different part numbers, the vehicle still worked correctly. In cases where the hardware differences are larger, transferring the original PFLASH may also be required.
