A damaged remote key for a 2010 Citroen Berlingo can be replaced by generating a new remote with Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Plus and cutting the key blade using the Dolphin II key cutting machine. In this case, the original key is still able to lock the vehicle, but the unlock button has stopped functioning. After generating and programming the new remote, both the lock/unlock functions and engine start work normally, restoring full key functionality.
How to generate the new remote?
Start in Remote Program on VVDI Key Tool Plus and follow this path:
Europe → Citroen → Berlingo → Berlingo (2009–2016) 0536 FSK
1. Insert the blue Xhorse XN Remote into the Key Tool Plus.
2. Install a new battery into the remote before starting the generation process.
3. Verify that the red LED flashes, then place the remote on the Key Tool Plus induction coil and tap Generate.
4. Wait until the tool displays Generation Successful.
Cut the Key Blade
After generating the remote successfully, use the Dolphin XP005L key cutting machine to duplicate and cut the mechanical blade accurately. Ensure the blade matches the original key profile for smooth operation.
5. Go to Cut Key and decode the original key.
6. Once the decoding process is completed successfully, click Start Cutting to cut the first side of the key blade.
7. Turn the key over, secure it properly, and continue cutting the second side to complete the key duplication process.
Verification
After cutting the key blade, compare it carefully with the original key to ensure the cutting profile is accurate. Test the newly programmed key on the vehicle to confirm that the engine starts successfully and all basic functions, such as locking, unlocking, and remote operation, work properly.
Once the blade cutting is completed, proceed with the remote key programming process using the Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Plus to complete the key setup.
