Problem:
Adding two spare keys to a 2019 VW Transporter MQB using Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Plus. Generated two Xhorse XSDM04EN MQB smart remotes, read and saved the EEPROM and immobilizer data, then learned the new keys using the immo data.
Both keys were programmed successfully, and all three keys start the vehicle perfectly. However, the customer’s original remote works normally, while both new Xhorse remotes have no remote function. Tried learning them again, even without batteries, but still no luck.
Has anyone experienced this issue with XSDM04EN on a VW MQB? Any ideas what could be causing the remote function not to work?
Here’s the clue.
VW Transporter/Caddy 2019 is MQB4.5, not MQB49 5C.
Those keys are MQB-style keys, but they do not use MQB electronics.
For MQB 4.5, you may need a different key profile and may have to learn the remote manually in some cases.
For 2019+ VAG IMMO 4.5, Remote Channel 09 is locked, and the remote is learned during transponder programming. You need to use aftermarket BH- or DH-ending serial keys with chips on board. Otherwise, the remote won’t program, and you cannot access Remote Channel 09 without ODIS.
