Reused several locked OEM Mitsubishi smart keys in this job. The keys were successfully unlocked using the Xhorse VVDI Key Tool MIDI, allowing them to be reprogrammed to another compatible Mitsubishi vehicle.
Check Key Details
1.Turn on the remote and launch the Remote Clone feature to automatically detect the signal frequency. In this example, the device shows 868 MHz.
2.When necessary, access Transponder Clone and choose Read Transponder to confirm the chip information. The key is identified as a 4D chip.
Tap on the Remote Reprogram function to continue.
On the Key Tool MIDI device, enter Special Function > Remote Renewal > Mitsubishi section, and select G8D-644M-KEY (434 MHz) from the supported options shown on the screen.
Connect the key and complete the unlock process as follows:
1.Refer to the wiring guide provided on the device and properly solder the required four points:

TP12
Power (+)
Power (−)
2.After confirming all connections are secure, press the Unlock button.
3.The system will display “Unlock Successful”, even if the key being tested is a 315 MHz variant.
Verification
Once the immobilizer data has been reset, the previously used OEM Mitsubishi smart key can be reused on another compatible vehicle. The key can then be added through standard programming procedures, restoring normal start and remote functions without issues.
Workshop Notes
The procedure is simple and stable, requiring only a few basic connection points for programming. In this test, multiple used OEM Mitsubishi smart keys were successfully reinitialized, and the operation remained reliable even when using keys with different frequencies.
