The Xhorse Multi Prog is the second-generation upgrade of the well-known VVDI PROG, offering faster performance, broader module support, and improved stability. In this post, we demonstrate how the Xhorse Multi Prog successfully reads the Kia Forte SIM2K-240 ECU, a Continental engine control module commonly used in Hyundai/Kia vehicles.
This guide provides a simple overview of the procedure, helping locksmiths and ECU programmers understand what to expect when working with SIM2K-240 using Multi Prog.

1. Open Multi Prog Software
Go to:
Kia → Forte → KIA CONTINENTAL SIM2K-240_ECU
This ensures correct protocol selection.
2. Follow the Wiring Diagram
The software provides a clear diagram for the SIM2K-240 ECU.
Connect the cables exactly according to the diagram to ensure stable communication.

3. Confirm Connection
Once all pins and cables are correctly connected, click “Connect“ to verify communication status.

4. Click “Read”
After connection is successful, select Read.
The ECU data was read successfully in this test.

Finish.
