Step-by-Step Guide
1. Prepare the EIS (Electronic Ignition Switch)
- Use a T15 screwdriver to remove the screws on the EIS housing.
- Open the unit carefully to expose the contact pads.
2. Connect the Adapters
- Insert the EIS securely into the solderless ST12 adapter, ensuring proper pin contact.
- Connect the DB15 cable between the Key Tool Plus and the adapter.
- Use the multi-function adapter to bridge the connection to the Key Tool Plus tablet.
3. Read EIS Data
- On Key Tool Plus, navigate to: Prog > IMMO > Benz > EIZ-W211-ST12
- Select Read EEPROM.

4. Prepare the Key File
- Navigate to: IMMO > Benz > Select from system > Prepare Key File
- Load the EEPROM file saved earlier.
- The software will extract the security password and generate a new key file.
- Save the prepared key file for programming.
5. Program the New Key
- Go to:Read/Write Key > Read/Write Key via IR > Write BE Key
- Load the prepared key file.
- Insert the new VVDI BE Key into the Key Tool Plus.
- Execute Write Key. Wait for the confirmation message of successful programming.
6. Test the Key (Bench Verification Recommended)
- Reassemble the EIS housing.
- Connect the EIS to a bench test platform with power.
- Insert the programmed key: If the red LED stays on, remove and reinsert the key.
- A successful operation is confirmed when the red LED turns off and you hear the internal lock click.
