It’s a 2024 Geely Coolray. The owner needed to make a minor mileage adjustment to keep the vehicle’s service records consistent with the dealership warranty requirements. The mileage had already been adjusted before the scheduled maintenance.
The panel looks like this.

First, remove the dashboard instrument cluster. Start by carefully pulling up the visor with a firm, quick movement. Then, remove the 12 screws securing the cluster and gently take out the panel. The rear cover is held in place by several clips and 4 screws, so release the clips and remove the screws before taking off the cover.

He successfully read the M24C08 EEPROM with the Xhorse Multi Prog. The chip needs to be desoldered for a reliable connection, but with a little care, the job can be done quickly and smoothly. Another successful EEPROM reading with Multi Prog!
First, we removed the dash panel, lowered the fuse box, and took out the four bolts securing the BCM. The module is located high on the left side of the front pillar, with multiple components integrated into it, so getting it out can be quite a challenge. Since there’s no separate EEPROM chip and the data is stored directly in the processor, we needed the right tool to access it. In this case, the Xhorse Multi Prog programmer did the job. The connection process is straightforward, but some soldering skills are required to complete the job properly.

He read the original data, transferred it to the same programmer, and wrote it back to the BCM. After that, he restored the data to the instrument cluster and completed the programming process successfully.
After reassembling everything, the result was spot on—the mileage matched exactly as expected. He then ran the scan through all the modules, and the transmission also showed the mileage information synchronized from the BCM. Everything checked out perfectly!
